History

Introduction

Cork is the second city in Ireland with a population of approx 140,000 people.
Founded in the 6th Centuary by St. Finbarr, Cork city centre is built on an
island in the River Lee, just upstream of Cork Harbour.

A university city for over 150 years, Cork is justly proud of it's history, and
there are many historically interesting sites open to the public.

These include St Finn Barre's Cathedral, Cork City Gaol Interpretative Centre,
Cork Vision Centre, The City Museum and most importantly
St Annes Shandon. Which is what i have based this Web Site on.
