The website should appeal to a wide ranging user group students of all levels, local historians and the Irish living abroad. Materials for the site is drawn largely from source material from the local museum and the internet
Source Material used in the creation of the web site include books, newspapers, the internet, primary source materials and photographs. The site focuses on the Shandon area. Firstly historical sites which includes St Annes in Shandon, the Tower of Shandon and the Shandon Bells in action. These would include The Cork Butter Museum and Firkin Crane, Linehan's Sweet Factory and O'Gorman's Factory. Finally the website highlights a number of institutions that formed part of the social history of Shandon.
