Eamon deValera

Eamon DeValera is without doubt one of Ireland’s greatest political figures. His status throughout Irish history is one that is always under constant criticism. He did indeed maintain a love/hate relationship with the Irish people. Even now at nearly twenty-six years after his death, deValera's life as a soldier, politician, and a president is still under constant scrutiny by historians, students, and the Irish public themselves.
