"The internal assessor will devise a pactical examination that assesses candidates’ mastery of 7 specified practical skills demonstrated in a set period of time under restricted conditions.
Candidates must demonstrate an ability to build a PC from supplied components and make it function properly. The PC, built by the candidate must include motherboard, CPU and Fan, memory, hard drive, floppy drive, CD-ROM, power supply, operating system and at least one perpheral device.
The candidate will have to complete the assembly in a set time, agreed with the internal assessor."

"The internal assessor will devise a theory based examination that assesses candidates’ ability to recall and apply theory and understanding, requiring responses to structured questions. These questions may be answered in different media such as in writing or orally.
The examination will be based on a range of specific learning outcomes.
The examination will be 1.5 hours in duration.
The format of the examination will be 4 structured questions: Candidates are required to answer 3 questions (10 marks each)"

"In three skills demonstrations, candidates will be assessed in a range of practical skills as outlined in the specific learning outcomes not assessed elsewhere.
Adherence to safe working practices should be considered as an integral part of each skill demonstration.
The skills can be assessed at any time throughout the learning process.
The candidate must submit a supporting document outlining the steps/process followed."
