Getting your award
How to get your award:
You need to complete certain core IT modules.
These are amongst the modules labelled (M) above.
You need to complete certain general modules, such as Work Experience and Communications
These are amongst the modules labelled (M) above.
The necessary mandatory modules are all marked in the awards lists above.
A minimum total of 8 modules including the mandatory modules.
You will be expected to attempt and complete in excess of the minimum, as this begins to broaden your computer knowledge to the standard required in the real world.
Record of Achievement
How to get an ROA:
A Record of Achievement is awarded to a learner who successfully completes one or more modules at any level, but does not have either:
sufficient modules (minimum 8) for that level, or
an apropriate combination of modules for an award,
and thus does qualify for a full award Certificate.
Credits may be accumulated over a period of time towards the achievement of your FETAC award.

Obtaining a Second FETAC Level 5 Certificate
How to obtain a second FETAC certificate:
A maximum of four module credits (to include Communications, the Work Experience module, and two other modules) must be carried forward to another certificate, where a candidate has already met the requirements for a previous certificate.
To qualify for the second certificate, a candidate must reach the required standards in four additional vocational modules from the list for that certificate.
The extra four modules must include the vocational mandatory modules required for the second award.
